Privacy Statement

As the operator of the unalex.eu Internet portal, IPR Verlag GmbH attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data, and complies fully with the statutory regulations when collecting, processing and disclosing personal data.

This Privacy Statement provides you with information about the collection, processing and disclosure of personal data and its protection by IPR Verlag.

1. Data security

We use organisational and technical means to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, manipulation and loss.

Some examples in practice are as follows:

Server location:

We operate our Internet sites via a server exclusively used by IPR Verlag that is located in Germany.

SSL encryption:

Any communication with unalex.eu takes place exclusively via SSL encryption. An encrypted connection can be recognised by the lock symbol in the browser line. When the SSL encryption is activated, the transmitted data cannot be read by third parties.

Password:

Your password is not saved by us in plain text, but rather as a hash value with “Salt” https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashfunktion, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_(Kryptologie) .

2. Collection and processing of personal data

Different user options are available on the Internet site. This includes, inter alia, free use of information and functions with and without registration, taking out subscriptions, and buying information products. Our website also offers digital services such as a newsletter, blog, contact form, commentary function and discussion fora.

Personal data is collected and processed insofar as this is necessary for the rendering of services or the user has consented to this.

3. Disclosure of personal data

Personal data is disclosed to third parties insofar as this is necessary for the rendering of services or for billing purposes.

4. Login details and log data of the server

Each time its Internet sites and data are accessed, IPR Verlag saves data in the log data of the server.

The following is saved:

• Name and directory of the retrieved Internet site or file

• Date and time of retrieval

• Transferred quantity of data

• Status code of success or failure of the retrieval

• Browser type and version

• User name in the case of multi-user gateways

• IP addresses

The IP address is saved for 7 days for the purposes of fault detection and elimination, defence against attacks on the Internet and the recognition of fraud attempts, and thereafter is anonymised through shortening (removal of the last octet for IPv4 and the last 80 Bits for IPv6 addresses). The anonymised protocol data is used exclusively for the statistical evaluation and optimisation of the services offered.

5. Registration function

Data entered in the Online Shop upon registration is saved and processed to the extent required for the rendering of services. The collected data is apparent from the respective input masks. This includes name, address, email address and IP address.

6. Newsletter

Our newsletter is sent exclusively to interested parties that have explicitly ordered it. In order to receive the newsletter, the email address where the newsletter should be sent to is needed, and further information is required to prove that it is your email address and you agree to receive it (IP address and date of registration). This serves exclusively as proof in the case of the misuse of the email address. Acceptance of our saving and using your email address for sending the newsletter can be withdrawn at any time, with future effect. Cancellation can take effect via a link which is included in every newsletter, or via the contact information which is to be found in the imprint. We will not disclose to third parties any personal data which we have retained for the purpose of sending the newsletter.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to ensure the proper functioning and usability of our Internet services. Cookies are small text files which allow specific information (for example, user configurations) related to the user to be saved on the user’s device. Cookies may be deleted, deactivated and restricted via most browsers.

8. Disclosure, recification and deletion of data

Upon request, we are happy to inform you at any time of any data of yours which we have saved. Upon request, we will also inform you promptly of any incorrectly saved or incomplete information.

9. Additional notes on data protection

For your protection against the misuse of your data by third parties, we would like to point out that personal data provided voluntarily by you may also be included in the service areas offered by us (such as commentary functions, transmission of decisions, fora etc.), which can be seen, collected, saved or otherwise used by other users.
